Saunders Staffing is seeking LPNs to assist patients at Lakin Hospital in West Columbia, WV. Nurses with at least one year experience in working in a psychiatric hospital are encouraged to apply.
Duties for LPN: Must assist professional nursing and medical staff in providing direct nursing care to patients, including medical treatments, administering medications, giving injections, assisting in care planning and recording and such other services within the copy of the LPN(s) license. Must ensure timely documentation into patient's electronic medical records, per the policies, procedures and common practices of the assigned facility to be discussed in detail during the hospital/facility orientation. LPN's must screen patients and record medical information; assist physician and registered nurse in examinations and treatments, set up and clean examination area; give injections and immunizations; instruct patients/clients in the use of medication and possible side effects.
LPN's will provide for the emotional and physical comfort and safety of the patients/clients. LPN must assist in response to medical and psychiatric emergencies. LPN's must communicate with physicians for patient care regimen in order to meet patient care needs.
LPN must assist patients with activities of daily living such as grooming and personal hygiene. LPN's may testify in court and commitment hearing when found appropriate and deemed necessary. The psychiatric physician must be present and available to testify as necessary and LPN must be available to appear and testify. LPN must respond to inquiries from family members, advocate, and other interested parties, ensuring adherence to the Confidentiality laws and the HIPPA Regulations. LPN's assigned to an acute care setting must have successfully completed a course in intravenous therapy and training in venipuncture which permits the LPN to start intravenous fluids. LPN must provide all services in a manner consistent with the applicable standard of care.
Qualifications for LPN: Must be licensed by the West Virginia Board of Examiners for Licensed Practical Nurse and have no record of prior or pending disciplinary action against him or her by the licensure body or agency. Must have one year experience in Psychiatric Nursing.
Position Details: Hours: 40 hours/week Shifts: Must be able to Work All Shifts

No Call/ No Shows will NOT be tolerated at this facility. The contract will be terminated immediately if this occurs. The Nurse must be Punctual.
