Job Description

Saunders Staffing is recruiting for an assembler 1 position.  Must have a GED  or high school diploma and these are entry level positions.  Training will be providedFull time and temp to perm.Shifts are 6am or 7am yo 4:30 M-T, Fri  7-11.  Possible overtime.                                                                                                TEAM ASSEMBLER IPosition Summary:Team Assembler I will work as part of a team having responsibility for assembling an entire product or component of a product assigned by management staff.  Team Assembler I will perform all tasks conducted within their knowledge of the assembly process and rotate through all or most of them rather than being assigned to a specific task on a permanent basis.Responsibilities/Duties: 
  1. Use adjustable microscopes on small assemblies and PC boards.
  2. Tin leads by dipping leads into solder pot or tinning solution.
  3. Mounts components such as transformers, resistors, capacitors, etc. onto printed circuit boards.
  4. Forms electronic component lead wires using hand-held tools or by operating automatic forming machines.
  5. Makes solder terminations as required for PCB assemblies or wire terminations for any application.
  6. Cleans, serializes, stamps, pots, and applies coating, adhesives as well as other minor assembly applications.
  7. Cleans assemblies to applicable process procedures.
  8. Mechanically assembles high-pressure hose and galvanized pipe systems and attaches functional and cosmetic hardware such as caps, clamps, knobs, screws, nuts, etc. using various hand and power tools.  
  9. Assembles mechanical and supporting products and can use the various machines in the work area as needed. 
  10. Bending, stooping and heavy lifting may be performed as needed.
  11. Understand and implement ESD procedures.
  12. Team Assembler I-Inspection:
    • Inspects electronic assemblies, subassemblies, and parts for compliance with specifications using drawings, specifications, and inspection instructions.
    • Examine the layout and alignments of parts and components for conformance and correct assembly. 
  13. With the approval of supervision staff, a Team Assembler I can become a Team Assembler II after serving one (1) year as a Team Assembler I and having the ability to complete all the duties listed above efficiently and with little error. 
    • If production requirements have increased and there is a need for additional Team Assemblers II to increase production, the COO and Operations Managers may promote a Team Assembler I 
who meets the qualifications above exceptionally to a Team Assembler II even if they have not served the full one-year term. Capabilities:
  • Ability to take verbal directions from supervision staff constructively and perform operations as stated in manufacturing instructions.
  • Maintain high level of quality production and meet goal hours set forth by supervision staff consistently.
  • Must be able to use manual and automated crimping machinery with little supervision.
  • Must be able to use manual and automated wire cutting and stripping devices with little supervision.  
  • Must be able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weakness or alternate solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.  
  • Complete paperwork to include travelers, check sheets, charts, and logs.
  • Must be able to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions. 
  • Must be able to report to scheduled work hours promptly each day. 
 Education/Work Experience/Skills: 
  • Through on job training, a Team Assembler I operator will learn:
    • Crimping 
    • Torque and Loctite applications 
    • Bonding and RTV applications
    • Identification labeling
    • FOD Prevention 
    • Traveler’s training using Jeeves
    • Handling of Assemblies 
    • ESD training
  • High School diploma, GED, former manufacturing experience or equivalent military experience.  
  • Must be able to read, write, communicate, perform simple math, and read measuring instruments.
