Saunders Staffing is recruiting for an admin assistant for a temp to perm contract.  Bluefield area.
Full time, hours are 8-4:30 M-F
Job Description: Administrative AssistantThe Administrative Assistant performs a variety of routine to complex administrative and technical tasks that require independent judgment and decision-making. Responsibilities include managing payroll time entry, handling purchasing tasks, and coordinating new hires and retirements. The role also involves scheduling meetings and conferences, arranging appointments for managers or directors, and preparing necessary documents for various departmental functions.Additionally, the Administrative Assistant develops and manages data collection systems, creating reports using spreadsheet and database software. The position may also serve as the HR contact for the department.Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage payroll time entry and purchasing tasks.
  • Coordinate new hires, retirements, and employee-related documentation.
  • Schedule meetings, conferences, and appointments.
  • Prepare and organize documents for internal meetings and other functions.
  • Develop and manage data collection systems for reports using spreadsheets and databases.
  • Serve as the HR contact for the department, handling personnel matters as needed.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required (Associate degree preferred).
  • 3-5 years of experience in business, administrative support, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet and database management software.
This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask efficiently in a dynamic office environment.Job Description: Administrative Assistant II (Clerical)The Administrative Assistant II performs a range of advanced administrative tasks across various departments, supporting specialized functions. Responsibilities include preparing documents from records and other sources, ensuring they are processed according to established procedures. The role also involves compiling information for reports, assisting in data consolidation, and preparing and maintaining files, records, payroll, and personnel data.Other duties include preparing leave reports, monitoring leave usage, handling routine supply purchasing, and assisting in the preparation of the organizational budget. The Administrative Assistant II may also serve as the HR contact for a department.Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and process documents and reports based on data from records.
  • Maintain files, payroll, and personnel records.
  • Monitor leave usage and prepare leave reports.
  • Handle supply purchasing tasks as needed.
  • Assist in preparing the organizational budget.
  • Serve as an HR contact within the department.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED, with additional courses in keyboarding and shorthand.
  • 1-3 years of experience in clerical or administrative work, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.Job Description: Senior AccountantThe Senior Accountant is responsible for managing complex financial records and performing advanced accounting tasks. Primary duties include preparing journal entries, processing budget transactions, and reconciling accounts. The role also involves assisting with the preparation of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, supporting the annual external audit, and producing financial statements and reports. Additionally, the Senior Accountant conducts financial analyses and prepares reports for external agencies as needed.Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Process budget transactions and assist in the preparation of the annual financial report.
  • Support the annual external audit process.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports for management and external agencies.
  • Conduct financial analyses as required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting or auditing, preferably in public accounting or government sector specialization.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage financial processes in a dynamic environment.
